Boot into Download Mode by keeping the ‘Volume Down’ and ‘Home’ buttons pressed while pressing the ‘Power’ button (Volume Down + Home + Power), until you see a WARNING screen. Follow the steps below to root your AT&T Samsung Galaxy S3: Turn off your device. But this is just Flashable and the Latest - CWM 6.0.4.3 - TWRP 2.6.3.0 - Stock First, let us start with rooting your device.
Or maybe there are permissions changes in Touchwiz 4.3 that the older recoveries are having problems with. I am suspicious of our new bootloader in conjunction with modified touchwiz systems creating problems. Sooooo Strange!!! Also the Backup that restored the most consistently in CWM 6.0.4.3 was the one i set to be in tar+gunzip format And this is just trying to restore a stock backup from CWM in order to establish a working point to make a ROM. I experience bootloops, bootups with complete system FCs (just a mob of them), Booting but not connecting to any networks. It Would seem that i am not able to restore from a backup in any scenario ( w/ /data and cache w/o /data and /cache) when using CWM versions below 6.0.4.3 Not sure why but this is just my experience so far. Its somewhat advisable to USE CWM 6.0.4.3 it seems to work better for Touchwiz backup/restore Check out some showcases of my work at The MK5 Stock System (While on KNOX Bootloader): I have helped several startups and established companies deploy innovative GIS and Data Engineering solutions. PS: I have my own consultancy and love to work on interesting problems. Or maybe more simply, the device can be reset to its factory version.

After an OTA update and before applying the update ZIP, the libraries will have to be backed up to create a new rollback ZIP for that version. Then the new Android build can be installed (for example using sideloading) and the BLE update ZIP reapplied on top (I have tested this with 4.4.2 aka build KOT49H). It is possible to rollback to the original libraries of build KRT16S using this ZIP (the files were obtained through “adb pull /system/lib ~/backup” before applying the BLE update ZIP). I was surprised to learn that the Nexus 10 cannot be updated in the usual way ( OTA) after this kind of operation.

Here is the Mac OS X application broadcasting the iBeacon advertisement: Zippyshare - i317-CWM.TouchRecovery-v6.0.4.3.zip Hope this helps others, unlike having to send personal info and waiting and hoping your request gets seen and fulfilled. I also needed an iBeacon transmitter: I used this opensource Mac OS X application that can run on my Macbook Air running Mavericks (but an iPhone or dedicated hardware could work too).

The patch can be tested with an Android app like iBeacon Locate (by the makers of this opensource iBeacon library for Android).

!!! Although this seems to work fine for me, I am very new to this so use the ZIP and the instructions below at your own risk !!!
It was generated by getting the source of Android (branch android-4.4_r1.2), applying this patch by Manuel Naranjo to reenable Bluetooth Low Energy, recompiling (with target aosp_manta-eng), replacing the content of the update ZIP created by XDA Developers user Keine with the newly compiled libraries and, finally, signing the new ZIP.

I have created an update ZIP file for the Nexus 10 (aka Manta) and Android 4.4 build KRT16S: The file can be downloaded from here. Since I want to try out (and maybe develop) apps that use iBeacons, that makes me very sad… Thankfully, there is a way to enable it, by replacing the original Bluetooth-related libraries on the device with patched libraries that add support for Bluetooth Low Energy. However, on my Google Nexus 10 (2012 edition, now running Android 4.4 aka KitKat), support is disabled in the official version provided by Google, even though the hardware supports it. Android has added support for Bluetooth Low Energy (aka Bluetooth Smart) and thus iBeacon (a profile of BLE) in version 4.3.
